Here
are some comments from the Commander:
Comrades:
We have entered in the year of 2012. This is the year of the Dragon. I
appreciate
the support of each of the Posts in the Thundering 3rd District.
I know that times
are tough for many of our Posts. Please do the best that
you can to continue the
strong heritage of your Posts. If you are having
problems, please feel free to contact
the District. At the least we can try
to guide you in the right direction. Sometimes
you may have to make hard
decisions. Make sure that your membership is involved and
are aware of the
issues surrounding their Posts. The economy and the smoking laws
are having
a great impact on everyone. You must work with your Auxiliary and your
Sons-of -the-American Legion (SAL) for help in making your Post a success.
The Department Mid-Winter Conference will be
held on January 22nd at the
Ramada Hotel on Sinclair Rd in Columbus OH starting at
10:00 am. The 3rd
District Winter Conference will be held on January 29th at Northridge
Post
746 on North Dixie Dr Dayton. Registration starts at 12 noon with the
Conference starting at 1:00 pm. The guest speaker will be The District
Executive
Committee will be held on January 26th at 7:00 PM (same location).
Thank you to all of the legionnaires, auxiliary,
SAL, and guests that came
out and helped handout gifts to the veterans at the Dayton
VA. The gifts
were very nice, and I am sure that the veterans appreciated them.
